San Pablo City- Mayor Vicente Amante was cited as one of the special awardees during the 20th Anniversary of the Bureau of Jail Management & Penology Reg. IV-A last August 8, 2011 at the Sulo Riviera Hotel & Resort, Lucena City. The CIO Staffs as the representative of the city mayor received the Plaque of Appreciation awarded by J/CSupt Serafin P. Barreto, Jr., BJMP Reg’l Director and J/Dir Rosendo M. Dial, Chief BJMP during the ceremony.
Mayor Amante was awarded through his invaluable and continous support to BJMP IV-A by constructing an additional isolation cell to the SPC District Jail. The city mayor also supports the other projects of the city’s jail like medical and dental services, Alternative Learning System, spiritual and values formation activities, sports events, beautification and cleanliness and livelihood programs.
The other local chief executive given special awards were Mayor Anthony Genuino, Los Banos, Laguna; Mayor Luis Alandy Ferrer IV, Gen. Trias, Cavite; Mayor Barbara Ruby Talaga, Lucena City, Quezon and Mayor Ramon Ilagan, Cainta, Rizal. The award further states that the special awardees’ support and assistance enable the bureau to realize its mission of providing a more humane and efficient safekeeping of inmates in the whole region.
Other major awards were Best District Jail-Quezon DJ; Best City Jail-Batangas CJ; Best Municipal Jail-Imus MJ; Best TC Implementer-Gen. Trias MJ and Most Improving Jail-Teresa DJ. Individual and other special awards were also given to jail officers personnel during the program.
Director Dial serves as the guest honor and speaker to this year’s celebration with the theme “Dalawang Dekadang Masigasig na Pagtugon sa Hamon ng Penolohiya”.(CIO-SPC)
